A healthy cattery keeps every guest safe. A few simple requirements protect all our feline visitors. Please have these ready before your cat's stay.

Vaccinations

All cats are required to have current vaccinations for rabies, feline viral rhinotracheitis, and feline panleukopenia. Current immunization certificates must be provided before check-in.

Feline leukemia test

A negative test for feline leukemia must be provided before check-in. This keeps every feline guest in our care safe and healthy.

Health & wellbeing

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any cat currently under veterinary treatment, or that appears unwell or aggressive at the time of reservation. If a guest becomes ill, we may at our discretion engage a veterinarian or administer requisite care, including treatment of diarrhea, vomiting, coughing or other obvious illness.

About VIP Vacation Kitty Kennels

We are lovers of all animals, both big and small, and we have shared our lives with them. Bringing four dogs to Panama was the easy part. Finding a place for them to "vacation" when we had to travel was much more difficult. Need meets opportunity!

VIP Vacation Kennels opened its doors in December 2010, providing an alternative to the cage kenneling popular in Panama. Providing a safe and enjoyable experience for your pets is the focus of ourselves and our staff. In 2018 we expanded to offer a cats-only vacation experience.

There are wide open spaces for group play, private areas for those less social, climbing trees, scratch pads, tunnels and toy boxes full of toys.

Frequently asked questions

Our team is here seven days a week, from early morning until evening and often longer, for feeding, cleaning, playtime and plenty of lap time. The cattery is attached to our Pets Go Global office in a commercial centre, and the rooms are monitored by security cameras. Every room has tee-pees, tents and covered hideaways, and that is not decoration: cats settle faster when they can retreat somewhere enclosed, and a quiet room matters just as much, because noise is one of the biggest stress factors for a boarding cat. Most guests need a few days to feel at home. Ours have somewhere to hide from day one.

We receive clients daily by appointment between 8am-4pm. If you are collecting after 12pm (mid-day) you will be charged for an additional day.

Absolutely! We post photos daily, except Sundays, to our Facebook page, VIP Vacation Kennels. If you do not use Facebook, let us know and we will send photos to you.

We require owners to supply sufficient food for the duration of their stay and a current vaccination certificate. You are welcome to bring your pet's bed (we are not responsible for beds that are destroyed during the stay), any snacks (in airtight containers), and a favourite toy (keep in mind it may not return!).

Only with prior permission from the owner, and only if your cat is social and shows no aggression towards others, will guests share play time.

Only siblings (cats from the same house) can share a room, and only if previously agreed at the time of booking. Siblings can be fed separately if you prefer.

Yes, we offer transport every day except Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. Between 8 and 12, times are set depending on the number of pets to be collected or returned.

Our philosophy is simple: guests eat and sleep in their accommodation and spend the majority of their day playing freely in our open areas.
